The Purito is probably the best 2m build-it-yourself model currently available. The electric version is excpected early 2021.

The Purito is a direct descendant of the Pures and the Slight the Schweiger family concern have optimised the design as far as possible with current (2020) CNC technology. The main design change is to a lower aspect ratio wing to increase the Reynolds Number and give better overall performance and particularly nice handling. Despite the larger wing the weight has been kept the same, resulting in a lower wing loading and excellent performance in weak conditions.

The Purito flies like a homesick angel and despite its light weight the model has a surprisingly good speed range. As Greg wrote in the RCGroups thread "The big wing bestows a good launch, even when the wind is light; the airplane itself has little drag, so displays very good legs; handling is easy, allowing the pilot to concentrate on thermalling; and finally, the spoilers really make spot landings quite easy."

The amazing wing is the major improvement of this design. The main spar is a substantial carbon tube which gives the structure excellent rigidity. A multitude of ribs are threaded over this tube to give the airfoil shape. This is even better maintained over the critical front portion by utilising two sub-ribs between each full rib, almost eliminating covering sag, and reducing drag appreciably. Becuse the tubular spar is inset below the covering surface there isn't a discontinuity at the spar line which is great feature - this usually trips the boundary layer and causes extra drag.

The kit is beatifully made up with excellently CNC cut balsa and ply parts. The wing is built over/in a 3D jig which ensures all the ribs are perfectly placed and aligned. This can be seen in the clear photos in the English build manual. In addition to the manual, full size plans are povided for the tail surfaces. Also see the RCGroups Purito thread for detailed build info. Also use Google Translate on this very useful Purito thread. Purito E … wot a jol

Built this amazing kit and flew it today and what a pleasure … 10 second motor run and it flew straight off the launch … Compared to my 1st build in 1970 … Graupner Amigo 2 … the quality and accuracy of the construction of the Purito is first class … gone are the days of pinning the spruce spars over the plans and and and …

Purito-E 2m RES

Late last year I built the Purito glider kit along with an additional electric fuselage to give me both options with only 1 wing. This did, however, involve building a duplicate horizontal tailplane, because this is not supplied as part of the electric fuselage kit. No problem, as the parts and layout are shown on the original glider plan. The effort was definitely worth it, as I now have the best of both worlds!
The electric version was maidened very recently in extremely light airs and was an absolute delight. A worthy competition model indeed - or just great up the hill. Having the option of electric 'get out of jail free' gives additional confidence to be more adventurous in exploring unpromising conditions. The Purito-E excels in these sort of conditions and so you rarely end up needing the power anyway. A very gratifying model that I doubt will be easily beaten for fun and performance.

Purito - E

Delivery time was fast and all in good order, Thank you to Neil.
Currently build is underway. Thought I couldn't find a kit quality better than the "Inside F5J" but the Purito is just that much better with CNC routered parts.
Going together with great precision, looking forward to flying it when complete.
Build instructions and build threads are very instructive, but being "old school" still like a set of plans, just a personal preference.

Purchased this model as an addition to my "2m RES electric fleet. As usual the service from Hyperflight was excellent. It is a most unusual kit in that there re no plans supplied with the exception of the tail surfaces and the spoilers. That said, I am about half way through the build and it it goes together very well. There is an english instruction manual translation available and this together with the build log on RC Groups makes everything very clear. Looking forward to completion. Will use the hacker A10-7L motor/gearbox. Also thanks to Graham for his review, which is helpful. Looking forward to the fiorst flights!

Flying the Purito Electric

With test flights successfully undertaken, it is time to give my thoughts on the Purito Electric 2 Meter RES Glider.
Supplied by Hyperflight, along with the Blue Bird BMS-101DMG Servos, the final launch weight is 465 grams. I have to mention, these servos, while not cheap at £18 each, are very very smooth.
Power is supplied by a Hacker A10-7L motor / gearbox combination, turning a 13” x 8” GM Prop and Spinner, power output measured at 9.5amps / 105 Watts on a 3S 350 mah Hacker Top Fuel ECO-X Lipo.
This battery was chosen as it gave the C of G at 75mm from the leading edge and proved a great choice in flight. There is no problem to get 90 seconds of full power running with only about 135mah taken from the battery.
90 Meters is very easy to obtain in less than 30 seconds, although the transition to smooth level flight is going to take some time to master, after flying high powered 4 meter F5J models.
The rudder is currently set at 70% Expo, and is still too fierce, some more work required there. Very slight input to rudder or elevator is all that is required, I think dual rates will need to be set up.
Very long floating glide and the slightest lift at 9.00am on a cloudy morning, saw a rapid climb out, very easy to achieve.
A lovely model, I can’t wait to fly it on a hot summer’s day.
