Description

The RES Dart is a superb 2m flying wing that incorporates very advanced aerodynamics to provide astounding performance. The RES-Dart is unusually stable for a flying wing, has good thermal performance and a wide speed range. The model impresses with its balanced flight characteristics, the enormous performance potential and the extraordinary manoeuvrability (see following video). The large 2 piece spoilers enable steep descents, allowing safe exits from thermals and accurate landings. The wing is two part and the winglets can be detachable, making for a very transportable model. Like our other F3-RES models this is a high quality build-it-yourself kit constructed from hand selected CNC cut balsa and plywood

RES-Dart is a flying wing which complies with the German F3-RES regulations and can be used in these competitions - in fact it has been specially designed to be competitive in these events. The wing profile has been optimised to give a very high launch while at the same time being easy to build. The thickness of approx. 9.5% allows for a lightweight structure and provides good torsional strength. The contour of the profile is only curved in the region of the front Dbox. To the rear of this, similar to the AG35, planar facets prevent covering sag between the ribs and thus ensure an accurate section is maintained. The wing geometry and sweep have been practically tested and flown many times while optimising the model's structure and aerodynamics. One important design goal was good launching. The flight test showed a smooth launch behaviour and very competitive launch heights. Thanks to its wing profile, low surface load and DSA winglets, the RES-Dart has extremely good-natured flying characteristics, which enable practiced pilots to crank up the RES-Dart into the tightest thermal turn and sometimes even get away from a hand launch.

The winglet mount incorporates a Druck-Sog-Ableitung (DSA) tube. DSA means pressure-suction discharge and improves the flow conditions in the wing-winglet transition area. This is a major cause of the very good-natured behaviour and the controllability in slow flight. The DSA tube was originally a light carbon fibre tube but this was decreed to exceed the limited amount of carbon fibre allowed in the German version of the F3-RES rules. Consequently the model is offered with a carbon or a plywood tube which is nearly as light and complies with all interpretations of the rules.

Download the German manual from here. An excellent English translation is now available here, or see the More Details section below for a link to a Google English translation. The kit does not include a plan. Although this is initially off-putting a clever build jig is included and with some observation of the manual photos the construction process becomes clear.

perfect packaging

I am very satisfied that I arrived safely in Korea.
Is there a template for the airfoil there?
I am very satisfied and am assembling it.

Arrived on the Tuesday with in 4 hours fuz and wings complete with top sheeting in place model Build's quickly. After a further 6 hours only sanding and winglets to build, Looking forward to finishing ,flying after lockdown, Recommended .

RES Dart 2M

Kit arrived well packaged and without damage.
This is a product requiring previous building and adaptive skills and a thorough understanding of construction techniques. Whilst there are translations of the original German instructions these are literal and frankly not much use. Intuition and experience of scratch building and problem solving will reap rewards with this kit.
I enjoyed the build. It makes up into a spectacular and head turning Nurflugel. Enjoy.

RES Dart kit

Hyperflight has taken a lot of care with the delivery, packaging and supplied materials of the RES Dart kit. I'm part-way through the build and it is going together well, I'm learning a lot from a building sequence which is quite different than I would do myself. I look forward to flying the finished glider. Thanks, Hyperflight, you stand out from the crowd.

No blueprint needed

The wood quality in the kit is very high quality, and even though I prefer blueprints/plans, after initial getting aquanted with rib stocks, any blueprints really aren't needed! I'm looking forward to completing this bird.

Res Dart

The kit was delivered a week after ordering. Great service considering I live half a world away. I still have a 1 wing to build and cover and the kit fits together perfectly.
Great kit and fantastic service, what more could I ask for.

RES Dart

I am very pleased that I decided after assembling a number of ARTF, mouldy gliders and foamy models to revert to my childhood hobby of actually building a model.
Laser cutting makes all the difference but you do need good quality materials. The Dart kit is of very good quality and has been a great pleasure to build. I now await covering film and servos to arrive from my model shop to finish the job. The kit is not difficult to put together and Hyperflight have given some good links to assist in the build. I must admit that a good translation from the German would have been very useful. Richard Ng made a valiant effort but the difficult bits where some help was needed made little sense to me, happily the photos from other forums helped a lot. I have built two fuselages one for high start and the slope the other for electric power at our flat field. After seeing the performance of the Dart on videos I am looking forward to flying this wing.
Thanks to Neil for excellent service from Hyperflight

Quick Delivery to Aus. Great Kit

Just a short note to say thank you for the Dart. I could not believe the short delivery time, from ordering in Australia on the 6-11-17 to delivery to same on the 14-11-17.
Arrived with not a mark on the packaging , and the kit looks great. I can’t wait to fly this glider.

Cheers and thanks again.

recibí el kit en poco tiempo, material de calidad, instrucciones ausentes en la caja, hay que descargarlas en alemán y luego buscar su traducción a ingles en rcgroups. Requiere experiencia en construcción, así que cuando acabe os cuento. saludos
