The LD Models Stark Pro is a high performance 1.5m DLG capable of the top level performance without breaking the bank. It is optimised for higher launches and a wide speed range.

The new fuselage has a slightly more spacious pod to accomodate all the servos, helping with ballance and reducing the all up weight.

The Stark Pro is available in two versions:

Checkerboard Spread Carbon layup wing. This is the standard option and weighs about 15 g more than the Light SC but is bullet proof and suitable for all throwers and all conditions. The stronger layup makes it especially good for slope usage.

Light Spread Carbon layup wing. This Vladimir veil type SC gives a very light wing that is suitable for most conditions though perhaps not a very powerful thrower with ballast. The SC is a very light weave and it is normal to see the occasional gap between the strands.

The Stark Pro is ideal for customers looking for maximum flying performance and model toughness, for the money. The finish of the parts is less good than some competing DLGs but this does not affect the performance in any way.

The model comes with a servo tray, control horns and a nice throwing blade. Pushrod and/or pull-spring wire needs to be supplied by the builder. We recommend our HyperFlight 0.8/1.4 Pushrod Set and 20 SWG piano wire.

For more info see the RCGroups Stark Pro thread, with lots of useful info, photos, and videos. Our thanks to Armsoar for use of their photos. Note the tailbboom as supplied is a little too large to fit in the fin mounting hole. Please sand the outside of the talboom and the inside of the fin hole to obtain a perfect fit.

Excellent Customer Service

I recently bought a Stark Pro from Hyperflight. After more than a month or two after receiving it, I started to look at the kit to start building it, but found it did not contain some of the parts - the Elevator standoff, screws, throwing blade, etc. I contacted Neil and he promptly sent me the parts with no questions asked. I would give HyperFlight a 5 star rating on their customer service. Keep up the great work,

Stark Pro purchase

I ordered the Stark Pro as a backup as I had bought a used one locally (California, USA) and fell in love with this model. My used model performs beautifully, and the build by the person I bought it from was first class, although I have had to fix the wing near the root due to a crash, and I wanted a new wing just in case - hence buying a new one from Hyperflight. The used one I bought weighed only 200 grams fully loaded with the battery - a really light build. I have not yet put the new one together, although. HyperFlight quoted the price and shipping and I purchased the new kit and it was delivered in 1 week - the shipping box and packing were excellent. I too have the problem wherein the tail plane does not fit into the fuselage pylon, but I will make it work when I do build it. All in all a good buying experience from Hyperflight - but the Tailplane not fitting perfectly caused the 1 less star in this review.

Stark Pro

I purchased the stark pro in May 2017, the product was delivered very quickly and arrived well packaged to prevent any damage in transit. On inspection it is evident that the quality and presentation of the art work and finish on the model is some what disappointing for a product in this price range. The imaging is not crisp and gaps show through the pigmenting which lets the overall product down. Another disappointment is the lack of any assembly instructions, although there is plenty of information in the forums online.
On assembly it was found that the moulded saddle pylon that the tail plane screws to, does not fit the fuselage at all well. Judicial application of the heat gun sorted the problem out however yet again for a model in this price range the parts should fit correctly?
The remainder of the build is straight forward and the model came out at 230 grams ready to fly.
Blue bird metal geared servos were used throughout along with etched PTFE tube and piano wire for push rods, Beadalon wire was chosen for the spring pull systems which all work well so far. These were all supplied by Neil at Hyperflite and all blend perfectly in the build of the StarkPro.
When it comes to flying, the model cannot be faulted, straight off the board with no vices. Initial flights were performed with the CG at 65 mm at which the model has a positive balance and is light on the controls.
This model really wants to fly and I look forward to many hours trying to master it.
It is a pity that the few negative points mentioned above detract a little from what is a superb flying DLG.

amazing all round

WOW. This is my 3rd DLG and the quality of this one is beyond outstanding. The postage to Australia was fast and extremely sturdy. Can't wait to get this plane to the field and see how well it will perform. Very happy with the planes quality, the excellent postage and service from Neil. Cheers mate.

There are Vladimir's Models....and then there are the rest. Sadly, I have to rank my sample of the Stark-Pro as being among the rest.
By all accounts this is a magnificent glider, capable of cutting it with the finest - but not mine, and within two days I had taken it back to Neil who kindly exchanged it for what we all know to be the best: the best in build quality, the best in performance. The Snipe. Taking advantage of the Spring discount, it was 125 more than the Stark-Pro. I would happily have paid twice as much.
The Stark-Pro arrived very quickly and was securely packed, yet another example of Neil's legendary service. I had already been notified that the tailplane pylons were missing from this shipment and would be arriving later. That was not a problem, although presumably there was no QC before shipping from the factory. What was a problem was that the fuselage was longitudinally a little out of true and would have resulted in the model tending to veer slightly to the left. But far worse was that there was never a chance that the fin would mate with the fuselage, for the tubular section at the fin's leading edge was much too narrow to accept the end of the boom. This wasn't a slight difference that could have been rectified by sanding the boom or opening up the fin; it was never going to fit, period.
By contrast, the wings, tailplane, fin and rudder all looked absolutely fine, hence my three-star rating. A pity, then, that the model was let down in other ways - but surprisingly there seems to have been no comment about the fin-fuselage issue on any forums that I have seen, so hopefully mine was just a batch issue.
All my other DLG's are Vladimir's; there has never been a manufacturing fault with any of them, and they are magnificent performers.
It has been said many times that no one ever regretted buying the best. How true that is.
