Spinthingly refreshing kit!I bought this as a birthday present for my dad. He is very pleased with how the kit turned out and the fun flying characteristics of model.
Thank you.

Spinthing kitGood quality balsa builds quite quickly the wings required a lot of balsa removal but the final result is quite satisfieing. Fuz I thought needed some strengthen the lack of instructions was a problem when it came to the fitting of the springs for the pull only rudder but a check on utube found the answer. Not had a maiden yet

Update.Having built and then flown the “spinthing” several times I have to agree with Charles Caswell. It flies poorly. However, I can confirm it flies beautifully with a different wing. I used a spare wing from a scrabble h build called “Mimi”. The wing planform is almost identical to the “big vik” sold by hyperflight. So if you are considering buying this kit; go ahead. However you will have to reshape the wing; in particular the tip shape and mass. The airfoil needs care and attention also as this will result in poor flight performance. To conclude, if you reshape the wing you will have a dlg that launches, flies and thermals very well indeed. Hope this helps those individuals that are disappointed with or in doubt as to whether to buy this kit.

google translatorI am considering buying this model because I enjoy building. I just saw another customer's review regarding to German instructions and how it flies poorly. First, me too don't know German and I am building a Spinning Bird (the instructions are in German as well). Open a dictionary! dude! Or there is a thing called google translate. Most of all, it is so self translate from the plans themselves. If you can't read the plans, maybe you shouldn't consider doing this at all. No wonder his plane won'g fly.

spinthingThe build materials are excellent, the build was straight forward but it was all in German so it was of no help. Over all I was very disappointed in this kit. While it makes a pretty little dlg glider it does not fly well at all. It was over priced for something that flies this poorly. If you are going to produce a glider it should at least fly well otherwise what is the point. 2 stars only because of the quality of the materials.

Kit contents.Great value kit. A really good route, albeit self build, to get into DLG without spending a premium. The kiy parts are of high quality as are the plans. As usual great packaging from Neil. Merry Chrimbo.

Great buy!!!Received from Neil in 4 days (to Canada!) in box-in-a-box packaging- absolutely no damage.
The model goes together very quickly, but be prepared to sand the wing to proper shape. The included wing sanding tool was cool, but it was just easier to use a sanding block- your mileage may vary. I did use the tool to verify the wing profile , just not for sanding.
Also be prepared for absolutely no instructions being included- if this is your first kit, it might be a little difficult, otherwise it goes together very quickly. The links that Neil posted are very helpful. The full-size plans are great and include the 3 wing options.
I've just completed the kit (120cm version) but have not flown it yet- the weather has been dreadful in Ottawa. I will update with a flight report when able.
I don't think you can go wrong with this kit- great value for your money!
