This Offset DLG Throwing Blade improves launch height and throwing comfort of discus launched gliders. Beautifully molded from carbon fibre, and contoured to maximise launch height and comfort. The offset allows for the discus launch glider wing's dihedral angle, so the fingers stay approximately vertically aligned, even though the glider's wing will be angled up by about 6 degrees.

The launch blade is supplied with square cut edges and will need sanding to a smooth shape, and the tang tapered to allow easier installation in the DLG wing,

Curved Offset DLG Throwing Blade
Weight as supplied 3.5 g unfinished
Max thickness of carbon 2 mm
Height of both blades 56 mm
Max width 11.9 mm
Length of tang 41 mm

The weight can be decreased by reducing the thickness of the carbon towards the ends of the blades, and by profiling the edges, to approximate to a thin ellipse. see the attached Shaping DLG Throwing Blades PDF below.

To fit, open the end of the model's wing, and glue the tang inside the wing with epoxy or good quality thick CA. For excellent installation instructions see this T-Blade Installation RCGroups thread.

Also called a contoured DLG launch blade, a seagull throwing peg, a curved launch blade.

My go-to DLG blade

I order this blade for every DLG build that comes with a peg. This is much stronger, much more ergonomic, and comfortable. I sand it down significantly to contour the edges and also make "teeth" in the part that glues inside the wing for extra strength,.
