Glider Thow Quad V3

Description

The GliderThrow Quad V3 is a precision digital control surface throw and differential measuring system, designed to simplify the accurate setup of RC gliders and model aircraft. Using four compact wireless sensors, it allows the deflection of four control surfaces to be measured simultaneously, with readings displayed in degrees or millimetres through a smartphone, tablet or computer. The Quad system is particularly useful for gliders with four-servo wings, allowing both ailerons and both flaps to be monitored simultaneously. Two independent differential readings make it easy to compare left and right control surface movements, ensuring accurate, repeatable settings and helping to eliminate unwanted asymmetry.Originally developed for setting aileron and flap throws on performance gliders, GliderThrow is equally useful for other model aircraft, including F3K DLGs, F5J, F3B and F3F gliders. Each sensor is held securely against the control surface by a powerful neodymium magnet positioned underneath, while a non-slip coating prevents movement during measurement. The sensors communicate wirelessly, with measurements displayed through a built-in WiFi interface accessible using any standard web browser. No additional app or internet connection is required.GliderThrow provides a measurement resolution of 0.1° or 0.1 mm, with dedicated displays for measuring control surface deflection and differential. By entering the control surface chord, angular measurements can also be converted into deflections in millimetres. The four sensors can be used together or as two independent pairs, providing flexibility for different model setups. The Quad system can also be expanded with additional compatible sensors to measure up to eight control surfaces simultaneously. In addition to measuring control surface throws, GliderThrow can be used for checking wing dihedral and wing-to-tailplane incidence angles (EWD), making it a versatile tool for accurate model setup. The V3 incorporates rechargeable and replaceable lithium-ion coin batteries, with convenient USB-C charging. Each sensor is exceptionally compact and weighs just 22 g, making the system easy to transport and use at the flying field.Key Features

How to Use GliderThrow QuadAttach the four sensors to the control surfaces using the magnetic mounting pegs, ensuring each sensor is aligned parallel to its control surface hinge.Switch on all four sensors, connect your smartphone, tablet or computer to the GliderThrow4 WiFi network, and open the interface in a web browser at http://192.168.5.1.Zero the readings with the control surfaces in their neutral positions, then move the controls to measure all four deflections and both differentials in real time.See the Glider Thow Instructional Video for a demonstration of the system in use.Tags: Glider Thow, Control Surface Thow Measurement
