GliderThrow Wing Incidence Tool V2

Description

The GliderThrow Wing Incidence Tool V2 is a precision measuring accessory designed for use with the GliderThrow digital angle measuring system. It allows accurate measurement of the wing–tail incidence difference, commonly known as decalage or EWD (Einstellwinkeldifferenz), helping you optimise the aerodynamic setup of your RC glider or model aircraft. The latest V2 version features two larger 10 mm square measuring beams for improved stability and accuracy. Each beam has adjustable clamps to secure it to the wing or horizontal tailplane, together with an integrated magnetic mounting base for a GliderThrow sensor. With a sensor mounted on each beam, the GliderThrow system displays the angular difference between the wing and tailplane directly through its WiFi interface. This makes it easy to check and adjust decalage accurately, without relying on visual estimates or conventional mechanical incidence meters. In addition to measuring wing–tail incidence difference, the tool can also be used to compare the incidence angles of the upper and lower wings of a biplane.Key Features
  • Measures wing–tail incidence difference (decalage/EWD) using two GliderThrow sensors.
  • Latest V2 design with larger 10 mm square beams for improved stability and accuracy.
  • Two adjustable measuring beams securely attach to the wing and horizontal tailplane.
  • Integrated magnetic sensor mounts provide convenient and repeatable positioning.
  • Displays the angular difference directly through the GliderThrow WiFi interface.
  • Suitable for checking incidence angles on gliders and other model aircraft.
  • Can also be used to measure the incidence difference between biplane wings.
  • Compatible with optional V-tail adapters for measuring V-tail incidence angles.
How to Use
Position the model securely on a stable workbench, keeping it approximately horizontal.Attach one measuring beam to the wing and the other to the horizontal tailplane, tightening the adjustment screws to hold both securely in place.Place both GliderThrow sensors on the same level surface and zero their readings. Then position one sensor on each measuring beam, with the hinge markings facing towards the nose of the aircraft. The wing–tail incidence difference can now be read directly from the Differential display in the GliderThrow web interface. The individual sensor angles are not relevant for this measurement.Note: Two GliderThrow sensors are required and are not included with the Wing Incidence Tool.
