The Circle Dancer 2000 RES is a great build it yourself 2m F3-RES kit model with an excellent pedigree. The model is supplied as a kit of CNC cut balsa, ply and carbon parts. The nicely drawn large full size plan includes English translations of all text. A brief photo-illustrated manual is also included, but as the text is in Czech only the kit is more suitable for seasoned builders.

The fuselage consists of a wooden pod with a large access hatch ready-fitted with securing magnets. At the font the beautifully carved nose block is hollow to take lead shot nose weight. Inside the pod a plywood tray has been installed for screwing the rudder and elevator servos too. The servos can be up to 24 mm long by 12 mm wide. The pod includes nuts to take the wing mounting screw and fittings to take the supplied adjustable tow hook. The carbon tailboom cleverly slides into the read of the pod and locates into a rear bulkhead, and a beautifully implemented carbon fairing streamlines it to the rear of the pod. A pylon for mounting the tailplane is molded into the rear of the tailboom, together with flats for the fin to be glued to. The tailboom also has been fitted with low friction plastic pushrod outer tubes and wire pushrods.

Although the fuselage is intended for pure glider use only the pod is quite large and it would be easy to build the model as an electric glider, with a 30 mm or 32 mm spinner.

The all balsa fin includes a large rudder for good directional control. The tailplane is similarly constructed and both are attractively shaped, giving the model a charming look.

The wing centre panel incorporates a substantial spruce spar and top surface forward sheeting to minimise drag. The centre panel incorporates a large spoiler for accurate landing and safely exiting strong thermals. The spoiler servo can be up to 10 mm thick. The ends of the centre panel have magnets built in to keep the tip panels in place. The tip panels are more lightly built and use front riblets to help maintain the correct forward airfloil shape. The tip panels are attached to the centre panel with a beautifully molded carbon dihedral brace.

The accessory pack includes the adjustable tow hook, control surface horns and other small fittings. The spoiler is designed to be actuated by a long spoiler servo output arm. The tail surfaces are intended to be connected directly to the wire pushrods with L bends. No clevises are supplied or needed in our opinion, but a keeper will be required to ensure the L bends don't become detached.
