Description

Vladimir's Models Carboline SC39/2/45 is a unique bi-axial Spread Tow Carbon fabric for ultralight structures.

In 2010 Vladimir's Models began a series of experiments to create an extra light carbon fabric. After numerous tests they perfected the design for a machine to spread carbon fibre tows to a thickness of 0.02 mm. This allowed the company to create a biaxial fabric from extra strength carbon fibres with a weight as low as 26 g/m². This bi-axial spread carbon weighs 39 g/m².

Today this fabric is used not only in Vladimir's Models planes but is also used by many other model and sports equipment manufacturers who demand the best, lightest, and strongest carbon for their products.

Now this high-strength fabric using IMS65 carbon fibres is accessible also to you.

Two sizes of Carboline sheet are available. Please select the required size using the radio buttons below the price. Delivered rolled, supported by orange peel ply fabric.

New favorite material to make ultralight wings

This and other carboline products permit the construction of ultralight glider wings and is becoming the favorite material in the construction of F5J and other competition gliders. Produced pieces, specially modern, thin glider wings, are very light but also stiff and very resistant to torsion forces. That is why I used this material to make the wings of my last F5J competition glider. It is easy to cut, handle and lay. The only negative point, in my case, is that even a full size sheet of carboline was not large enough to make an entire 4m glider wing, but I presume the sheet dimensions depend on the production process itself. Price is also a little bit high, but the quality/price ratio is quite good. Excellent product!!

Excellent

Very easy to work with and excellent for Dlg wings. I used the 65g hyperflight checkerboard spread tow to form a D Box and used the carboline for the rest of the wing. Very pleased with the finished weight, stiffness and appearance. Hyperflight service and packaging first class.
