Review by: Andy
Fantastic modelThis model has proved a very sound choice after my 'DLG shoulder' fell victim to arthritis. The accuracy & quality of construction is a massive improvement on that achieved by more traditional methods & the advanced airframe design offers tremendous advantages in performance & handling.
Certain assembly tasks can be quite demanding and fiddly & some of the detail does need careful thought and consideration. For example, although the (optional extra) metal engine mount is highly recommended & works well - watch out for overlong mounting bolts, they can cause trouble! Similarly, it is wise to use the supplied lead out sheathing where control runs pass through the fuselage but difficulty may be encountered when bonding these in position. A solution here is to sleeve the plastic tubing with close fitting heat shrink. Cyano will then readily bond these short lengths in place in the carefully formed slots in the carbon fibre fuselage.
As stated in the DLG version reviews, it is in the flying that this model really shines. The handling qualities inspire confidence almost immediately & the gliding performance is truly astonishing. I have been flying RC models for over 40 years & I can report this to be the very best of it's genre that I have ever flown. The recommended power train works well and represents a valid compromise versus the pure DLG version. I am mightily impressed & extremely pleased with this model.
