The Mini Dart 2 ARTF is a very competitively priced all-moulded 1 m DLG, combining excellent construction quality, a superb surface finish and impressive flying performance. This ARTF version comes with four Power HD DSM44 micro servos already installed, with the aileron pushrods and linkages fully connected. All control horns are fitted, and a throwing blade is installed in the left wing, making the model suitable for right-handed launchers.The wing and tail surfaces are fully moulded from either glass fibre or spread carbon in an epoxy matrix over a solid XPS foam core. The glass version offers more than adequate strength and stiffness for normal use, while the carbon version is slightly stronger, stiffer and lighter, justifying its higher price.The 2.4 GHz-friendly fuselage is also available in carbon or glass to match the wing. It is a one-piece design with a generously sized nose and a removable slip-on nosecone. Removing the nosecone reveals the space for the radio equipment, including approximately 75 x 30 x 20 mm of usable space ahead of the pre-installed servos for the receiver and battery. The servos are stacked two below and two above to make best use of the space.On both versions, the forward section of the fuselage and the nosecone are moulded in glass fibre, allowing reliable 2.4 GHz radio reception. At the rear, a carbon pylon supports the tailplane, while the fin is securely bonded to the end of the boom. Both tail surfaces are lightweight, fully moulded components in either carbon or glass to match the wing. The carbon fuselage and tail surfaces are black, while the glass versions are white.The beautifully moulded wing has a relatively generous chord, helping to give the Mini Dart 2 a low wing loading and benign handling characteristics. Large ailerons provide excellent control authority, while the high-gloss moulded finish is of a standard normally associated with considerably more expensive models.Please note that all Mini Dart 2 models normally stocked by HyperFlight are configured for right-handed launchers. The fuselage is shaped to suit the cambered fin and the left wing incorporates the necessary reinforcement for the throwing blade, so conversion to left-handed launching is not straightforward. Please contact HyperFlight if you would like to special-order a left-handed Mini Dart 2.The Power HD DSM44 servos are rated up to 6V only, so they should not be used on a 2S LiPo battery without a regulator to drop the voltage.
