Feather Cover Sparkle is a lightweight iron-on covering material weighing just 20 g/m2. It is ideal for lightweight and small models. What makes this material especially suitable for lightweight structures is its moderate shrink compared to traditional iron on coverings. This makes it easier to cover delicate built-up structures whilst minimizing the chance of inducing warps.
The new
Sparkle version has thousands of stars etched into the surface, as grating type lenses, and giving a beautiful sparly rainbow effect. The rear of the film has a heat-activated glue coating, allowing it to be applied with a modeling iron set to to 120°C for tacking the sheet in place, and 160°C for shrinking. There is no backing film.
Feather Cover takes paint exceptionally well. All versions bond effectively with non-water-based paints, ensuring long-lasting results.
Automotive acrylic aerosol cans provide excellent coverage and durability. If hobby-grade paints are preferred we highly recommend the Tamiya PS range which dries rapidly to a smooth satin finish.
