This 77 cm long lightweight carbon fiber boom tapers from 9 mm diameter to 4 mm diameter, with a wall thickness of 0.3 mm. It is made from high modulus carbon fiber wound onto a tapered form, encased in an epoxy matrix, and cured at high temperature. This high quality carbon boom (hollow tapered tube) is extremely rigid and strong, yet only weighs TBA g.
These composite carbon fibre booms will be sent in a rigid cardboard postal tube by courier. This increases the delivery cost, but they cannot be sent by regular mail as they are over the 90 cm maximum length.
