Vortex 5 DLG

The ground breaking DS Composites Vortex 5 with a four control surface wing DLG is probably the most highly regarded DLG currently available. Many top pilots find the extra controllability of the separate flap and aileron control surfaces gives greater manoeuvrability with less control surface drag in thermal turns and normal flight modes. Also the ability to have crow braking on landing greatly improves control on approach and landing, reducing the likelihood of fumbled catches and resultant damage. Plus the thoroughbred low drag design of the Vortex 5 and excellent surface finish give high launches (up to 80m) and an excellent glide angle. All the models have two piece wings and removable tailplanes and fins to aide transport and storage. We also stock the 4 servo (flaperon) version for those pilots who prefer the simplicity and lighter weight of this configuration.

Like the Vortex 4 the build quality is excellent and the engineering is very impressive. Apart from of course perfectly molded carbon parts the kit comes with a very nicely engineered system for automatic connection of the aileron controls when the wing is attached. This is a different level of convenience and functionality to other DLGs we sell.

Supplied with a complete accessory bag including all the items necessary to complete the model. Two servo trays are included, for KST X08 and MKS DS65K servos.

We are stocking the two piece wing version (2pw) with a bottom mounted tailplane, in various layups. The models available also have the updated slightly taller fuselage that accomodate the KST A06 servo.
