| Description: |
The Supra Electric Ultralight is a special light weight version of the Supra optimised for electrc power, making it suitable for F5J type electric r/c thermal soaring competitions. This version is only suitable for electric thermal soaring and is not warranted for hotliner type high energy flight.
The differences of this version are:
- Custom fuse pod with a nosecone designed for a geared electric motors. This is now fitted with a removable canopy hatch foe easy access to the batteries.
- Special fin modified to allow the tail servos to be rear mounted, to give more space for the powertrain in the pod, and to aide with correct centre of gravity placement.
- Newly designed wing spar sized to withstand the forces required of a 2kg electric thermal soarer - no heavy spar for withstanding two man F3J tows! This saves considerable weight and improves climb and glide performance. However it is not designed to handle very high speed dives or high G aerobatics!
These improvements will allow the plane to excel in the UK eSoaring class, that limits power to 200W per Kg, with a maximum of 400W. This lighter version will also be attractive to all pilot who prefer a lower weight model that excels in typical weak UK conditons.
The wing skin is a very rigid and tough glass/rohacell/kevlar sandwich with a substantial carbon spar.
