| Description: |
The SkyAssistant is a small but very high specification logging telemetry variometer. The R/C model's vertical speed (lift and sink) is transmitted to the pilot, who hears audible tones and voice announcements telling how the model is flying.
Lift is indicated by a pulsed tone with rate and frequency of the pulses depending on the climb rate. Sink is indicated by a low, continuous tone depending on the sink rate. The audio tones and voice announcements are transmitted by built-in radio transmitter and can be received on standard LPD, PMR or FRS receivers.
Features of the SkyAssistant include:
* Voice announcement of altitude in [m] or [ft] at reach definable altitude step (default every 50m).
* Voice announcement of on-board battery voltage, a message at each voltage drop of 0.1V and a voice alarm if it drops below a definable value.
* Voice announcement of temperature (battery, engine or air) in [°C] or [°F] with temperature data logging.
* Measurement of value and stability servo PPM signal and definable sound signal if interference is detected (works with PPM/PCM systems).
* Weight of only 28g.
* Nipple static port allows connection of total energy (TE or TEK) probes.
* Compatile with WsTech TE probes.
* Measurement of atmospheric pressure in Pa or inches Hg.
* Triggering voice messages of measured values (altitude, voltage and temperature) and device status.
* Recording of all measured values into Flash memory (logging time >10h in typical conditions: 5 parameters every 200ms).
* Easy firmware updating.
* All data can be downloaded and graphed for off-line analysis.
* USB PC interface.
* Easy to use PC software to setup the many programmable parameters and for viewing the altitude logs.
Box contents include: SkyAssistant variometer, PC software supplied on a 2Gb USB stick, Mini USB interface cable, manual.
Any LPD or PMR receiver can be used, but we recommend the Intek MT-3030 is used with this vario.
Note that the SkyAssistant does require access to a PC running MS Windows for setting up and accessing the logged data. See below the instruction manual PDF file for more info.
