Pulsar 4000e
Product Code: PULSAR-4000E
Description
Pulsar 4000e
The Pulsar 4000e is a completely new model, though highly influenced by its very successful Pulsar 3.2 and 3.6 predecessors. It has the largest wing of all the electric F5J models we sell (and probably the largest of this type in the world), giving the model an extremely low wing loading, and thus an amazingly low sink rate, and the ability to climb out in even the weakest of thermals. This combined with the very large visual footprint allows this model to be flown very high, and to excel at duration events, and sport flying on those perfect summer evenings we all dream of.
It uses the latest Ukrainian composite construction techniques and a modern aerodynamic design utilising Mark Drela's AG26 airfoil, optimised for high performance thermal duration planes. The low wing loading and generous dihedral gives excellent thermal climb performance, with the fully articulated wing controls allowing the model to be centred accurately in small turbulent thermals. The thin low drag airfoil works well over a surprisingly large speed range, allowing the model to be safely brought back after drifting far downwind. The large flap and ailerons allow steep slow final approaches, allowing even club pilots to score top landing points, and bring home the wood.
Like other highest performance thermal duration sailplanes the entire model is constructed using free-flight techniques. The wing is a balsa built-up carbon fibre and Kevlar D-box design that utilizes carbon capped balsa ribs and a carbon trailing edge. The open section wing and tail are covered with Ultracote Lite.
The fuselage is made of white gel-coated Kevlar cloth with carbon tapered boom and removable Kevlar nose cone to give good access to the electric motor and battery. The three piece wing and 2-piece conventional tail are easily removable for transport and storage. The rudder servo installs in the vertical stab, and the elevator servo fits in the end of the carbon fibre boom.
The fuselage pod is made from Kevlar so it is 2.4GHz friendly, making the installation of 2.4GHz RC straightforward.
The Pulsar 4e is a very high performance thermal duration eSoaring model, but its good handling makes it suitable for both sports fliers and competition fliers.
