Fu-Fix External Bearing Kit (pair)
To maximise a glider's performance it is essential that the flaps and ailerons have totally slop free linkages, so the airfoil camber can be accurately adjusted during flight, to optimise the airfoil for the current flight condition, be it launch, thermal hunting, circling in a thermal, or beating upwind through sink.
The Fu-Fix External Bearing Kit increases the rigidity of the linkage, and reduces compliance and slop in flap and aileron linkages by providing a structural fixing on the other side of the output arm from the servo body, changing the output arm mechanism from being cantilevered on the top of the servo, to being fully supported. This massively reduces the forces on, and thus the compliance of, the servo body.
This bearing kit is the most cost effective, and possibly easiest way to create rock solid linkages that allow modern high resolution servos to accurately control the wing trailing edge.
Select the correct kit according to the thread size of the output arm fixing screw for your servos. The kit replaces the normal output arm fixing screw with a new threaded shaft fits inside a ball race that is mounted in a bearing block. This block is glued to the wing (preferably to both the upper and lower wing skins), as shown in some of the photos.
