The VM F5K/Snipe 2e power set consists of a pair of VM 6x4 carbon folding prop blades in a VM 25 mm spinner ready mounted onto a LDARC XT1806 2500 RPM/V racing outrunner. To this a KS 30A speed control running BLHeli32 firmware has been expertly soldered. The battery plug on the ESC is an XT30 but this can be replaced if necessary
Update: Jan 2021: the speed control used now has a 5V 2A BEC circuit to allow normal 5V servos to be used. The BLHeli32 settings on the one we checked were as in the last photo.
The total weight of this power set is 33.7 g (1.2 oz). It is highly recommended for the VM Snipe 2e model.
We suggest that a 2S LiPo battery with a capacity between 300 mAh and 600 mAh is used. Vladimir's Models recons they can be used on a 3S LiPo but this is pushing them very far and risks overheating the motor. We do not guarantee the powerset on this voltage.
The supplied M2 motor mounting bolts are too long and can protrude into the motor and damage the windings when using a thin firewall. Either shorten the bolts or use washers to avoid this.
DO NOT CONDUCT STATIC POWER TESTS FOR OVER 5 SECONDS. YOU ARE LIKELY TO OVERHEAT IT IF YOU DO.
The all-in-one powerset is well engineered and a brilliant help in getting a small ELG into the air in minimum time. The ESC comes with Blheli software loaded so is easily and fully programmable via a laptop or smart phone.
