Xflow F5L 2m Electric with ballast
Description
Xflow-E – Born from CompetitionThe Xflow is the new high-performance competition F5L RES electric glider from the manufacturers of the Encanto. The Xflow-E has been developed from several seasons of competition flying, extensive testing and direct comparison with other leading models across a wide range of conditions.Rather than replacing the Encanto, the Xflow-E builds on its proven design, with development focused on improving the handling, the powertrain and the range of usable setups. The main development objectives were:
The perforated airbrakes provide progressive, controllable deceleration with relatively little increase in sink rate. Combined with the Xflow's ability to fly at a high angle of attack in a Harrier-style approach, this gives very slow and stable landing characteristics and allows precise spot landings, even in more demanding conditions. The Xflow-E is available with either a Standard wing designed for most flying conditions, or with a Camber wing optimised for light conditions:Xflow-E Standard
Lower-camber wing aerofoils give a more versatile glider capable of excelling in stronger winds and faster, more dynamic flying while retaining good stability and predictable handling. Recommended centre of gravity: 100–102 mmXflow-E Camber
Higher-camber wing aerofoils are optimised for calm conditions and weak lift, with high sensitivity and excellent tight-circling performance. Recommended centre of gravity: 105–107 mmPerformance Without Compromise
With the Standard wing, the Xflow-E has a wide usable speed range, stable and predictable flight characteristics and precise control throughout the flight envelope. With the addition of the Camber wing, it also excels in light lift and low-wind conditions. The Xflow-E has been developed as a thoroughbred competition model that rewards accurate flying and careful setup, allowing experienced pilots to make full use of changing conditions and concentrate on tactical decisions in the air. However, it is easy to fly and forgiving enough for all modellers to benefit from its excellent performance. HyperFlight are only stocking the Standard version, however we are also selling a Xflow Camber Wing Kit for modeller requiring both options.See this RCGroups thread on the Xflow for more info.Although few build assets are available yet the wing is identical to the Encanto and the fuselage construction is very similar, so Encanto build logs and construction videos can be used.
Manufacurer's recommended equipment:
2 x KST X06, 2 x KST X06H, Engine Dualsky XM2527EG-16 (2300KV), Reg. DS SUMMIT 30Slim.U8, Spinner CCM 25, Propeller CCM 7x4, Tattu 3S 500mAh battery.
Spinner size: 25mm (larger ones will not fit)
- More precise and stable thermalling, particularly in small or weak lift
- Higher tow release altitudes
- A wider setup range for both calm and windy conditions
- Narrower, lower drag electric fuselage
