HyperFlight is proud to stock the Flitzebogen 2
- or Flitz 2
to English speakers. The Flitz2
is a superbly built discus launched glider with an illustrious contest record and an enthusiastic following by the cognoscenti. Oleg Golovidov placed second using a Flitz at the recent US IHLG contest, a tribute to Oleg and the glider! The Flitz 2 is an update on the original design with a higher aspect ratio wing and other aerodynamic and structural improvements. The surface finish is of the highest standard.
The small fuselage is a nicely made carbon molding with a 2.4GHz transparent glass radio compartment, to simplify the RC installation and maximise range. The tailplane is mounted on a lightweight pylon that can be mounted above or below the tailboom, whichever the builder prefers. The fin is a strong but light design.
Like the rest of the model the wing is a beautifully molded with carbon skin of attractive lozenge shaped spread carbon, over a solid core. The aileron servos are mounted in the wing for the most direct and rigid control connection, and the aileron pocket outlines are already moulded into the lower wing skin. The wing is available in two weights, Light
- the Standard layup is about 10g heavier and suitable for all flying conditions.
The wing launch peg and other hardware are included in the full accessory packet. See this RC Groups Flits 2
thread for a lot more infio and great build photos by Oleg. BTW flitzebogen
is German for crossbow
