Description

The Dream 2.0 Electric is fast 2m electric hotliner. This model is nicely finished with great graphics. The design is conventional apart from a hatch aft of the wing for the tail servos, to allow maximum space to be used for the powertrain and battery. We are just stocking the all carbon version, and this is a very strong very heavy layup which should hold up well to high power setups.

The fuselage has a good sized canopy hatch. No firewall has been fitted but a thick 36 mm firewall is included in the complete accessory pack. The fin incorporates a nicely engineered bell crank to actuate the all-flying tail, and an access hatch for connecting the linkage.

The two part wing is nicely finished and of hollow molded construction. The through-fuselage wing joiner is very substantial and imparts just one degree of dihedral per panel, ensuring good aerobatic performance and an attractive look in the air. The wing has generous sized access hatches for the flap and aileron servos which can be up to 10 mm thick.

The photos mostly show the glider version, but we stock both glider and electric Dream 2.0 models, and electric Dream 2 versions do have the nosecone removed, and a firewall supplied.

The supplied accessories include all control horns, four plywood wing servo frames (for KST X10 or similar sized servos), and clevises and control rods for the flap and aileron connections. No build manual is available but assembly is straight-forward. Note that although the furface finish is generally good the fit and finish of the model is not up to that of a top price European model. Small bumps and fit problems are normal at this price-point.

Dream 2

A gorgeous plane, how ever there was some minor flaws out of the mold, a couple wavy spots. I strengthened the canopy area and the the nose wit a little more carbon tow. Running a fairly hot set up, Nue 1512y / 5.2 gear on 2200 mah 5s turning a GM 15 x 16 RFM thin. Putting out close to 2000 watts. Been yankin some high speed 90 degree pulls with little wing flex. For the price this makes a nice all arounder / hotliner. I would also recommend the magnus, running a FRD geared set up with a 11 x22, hauls ass, also a nice little DS’r

I bought the electric version of the Dream 2 with the intention of completing it as a slope glider initially, and later converting it to electric. Component quality really very good: fits good, no excess flash, nice tight seams. No real problems in the workshop, but if it's your first moulded model get some help for installing the radio: the horns are fiddly, and the fuselage pushrods have to be 'just so' in order to avoid clashing. First flight at the Long Mynd was very satisfying: with a safe forward CG the glider immediately flew straight and level, but responded well. The ailerons were too sensitive for my taste, the elevator too 'soft'. Inverted needed considerable 'down', so the CG was too far forward. First landing very good: crow settings just right. Removed 50g of nose weight, increased aileron Expo, and the model turned out to be just about perfect: inverted with very little down, ailerons more manageable, elevator exactly right for my taste. Three long flights that first day, and I went home very happy. I plan to report again once the electric power system is installed.

Reasonably priced mouldie !

An excellent product for the price, very attractive glider which I intend to use as a slope soarer and also flat field. A very minor irritation is the supplied hardware is not good, the metal clevises and rods are poor in terms of fit, I substituted mine for better. However a very nice machine for the price. Excellent service from Hyperflight as usual.

Great

I've been flying the dream for 2 month as of this review. I typically fly almost everyday on small beach dunes, my outdoor videogame. The glider is very adaptable, stable, and maneuverable. Outfitted with the Xpower storm and 4S power, I don't toss just let the power pull it out of my hands. I have had it in medium strength thermals, and it did ok for a heavier glider, medium flaps and the turn radius was within 15 yrds. I didn't care for the carbon control rods and re-fit with 4mm, the other supplied hardware isn't top line but will work.
Already ordered the 2.8m version...if that tells you anything.

Tjirc Dream

After a long search for a decent sports glider for use on a flat field I decided to get a Dream. Initial impressions are very good and Neil's service is excellent. I will be putting the plane together in a few months time but don't anticipate ant problems. If you want a decently made inexpensive, well relatively, then the Dream is a good contender.
