DATAVARIO-FRS |
| Description: |
The Wstech Classic Sound DataVario FRS the US legal version of this variometer. It is a high technology variometer that, in addition to normal voice vario functions, also interfaces with a pitot tube and electric motor current and voltage sensors. All this data is then logged to the Micro SD card, and optionally announced over the radio link, allowing the pilot to hear altitude, airspeed, rate of climb/descent, motor current, and motor voltage.
- Clear announcements of altitude, voltage, and glitches.
- Four R/C selected announcement modes - all include R/C voltage and failsafe warnings.
- Normal mode announces the model's altitude whenever it crosses a 100 ft threshold.
- ‘Integral’ altitude change mode announces altitude change from 20 seconds ago - excellent for plane tuning and scratching.
- Special mode for tuning the climb rate when flying electric gliders - now you can optimise your angle of climb real-time.
- Use the R/C link to have your model's altitude announced on demand.
- Saves the minimum voltage and maximum altitude, and announces them the next time the vario is switched on - great for bragging rights and safety.
- Quiet mode only announces when the R/C voltage drops or if the radio link is lost - excellent for aerobatics.
- Transmits it to the walkie-talkie ground station on one of 7 channels on the US legal 462MHz band.
- Very sensitive 5cm/s (10 ft per minute) pressure sensor allows even the smallest and weakest bubbles to be detected.
- Fast acting tonal (duut, duut, dut, dut, dit, dit) output gives immediate indications of lift and sink.
- Operates in feet or meter units
- Weighs only 27g (1oz)
- Operates on a 4.5V to 9V supply, so can be used with 4 or 5 cell NiXX receiver packs or a 2S LiPo pack.
- Draws only 75mA, so operates for approx 2 hours on a 7g 2S 145mAh LiPo pack.
- Short 7" flexible wire antenna.
- Out of sight 1.2 mile range.
- Legal for use in USA - uses the FRS frequency band, so no licence is required.
Read the CS DataVario Instruction Manual for a full description of the facilities.
Note this is only the part that goes in the model. If this is your first variometer you will also need a compatible LPD receiver.
