Taser Carbon
Product Code: TASER-CARBON
Description
Taser Carbon
The Taser Carbon is a very lightweight thermal soarer designed by the renowned Podivin Composite Modellbau team. This Austrian manufacturer is best know for their Fireworks series of competition winning discus launched gliders. It is just like the standared model but the wing and V tail have a carbon fibre cloth skin. Apart from looking great this makes the wing a lot stronger, reducing hangar rash and allowing high energy aerobatics, but only add a little to the weight.

The model is a fully molded 2m electric glider intended mainly for competitive and sport thermal soaring. The carbon layup wing shows off the carbon weave beautifully, and the lack of gelcoat helps keep the weight down to a minimum. The advanced design by Marcus Podivin uses a mixture of computer assistance and careful flight testing, with stepwise refinement to arrive at a perfect compromise of performance, flying characteristics and resilience.
The near elliptical two piece wing has of 7 degrees of dihedral, giving it good stability, especially in tight thermal turns. Its thin Drela airfloils and large camber changing flap/ailerons give the Taser a large speed range, allowing it to be used in winds up to about 15mph. The flaps and ailerons are expertly gap sealed, to minimise drag and ensure excellent control feel. The flaps and ailerons are supplied joined, in one piece, so the model can be setup to use two servos on flaperons, or four servos controlling the flaps and ailerons separately.
The all carbon fuselage has a removable carbon canopy hatch. The fuselage is very slim, reducing drag, but requiring small RC gear, and a small powertrain. The model is easily transported with its two-piece wings and compact V tail. The Taser is almost completely built at the factory, very little work is required to finish it.
