The HyperLiFe 2S 480 mAh LiFe is suitable for DLGs and other small models. It has enough capacity to fly an average four servo discus launched glider for 2-3 hours (or more), depending upon the servos used.
A two cell (2S) LiFe battery produces 6.6 volts nominal, which is nearly a volt less than a 2 cell LiPo battery. LiFe batteries have a good discharge curve that is flatter than that of a NiMH battery (less voltage drop with discharge or load), and without the risk of fire that exists when a LiPo battery is abused. Additionally, when used as a receiver pack, for most 2.4GHz receivers and many servos, a LiFe battery eliminates the need for a voltage regulator, which reduces the risk of failure by eliminating a component that could potentially fail.
