Akcent 2 DLG
Product Code: AKCENT-2
Description
Akcent 2 DLG
The Akcent-2 is a molded composite discus launched glider model beautifully made by Dmitriy Lomovtsev of LD-Models in Russia.
The Akcent has several innovative features in addition to a sleek graceful design and a proven airfoil set (modified AG series from Mark Drela). The wing is molded with a CNC routed foam core inside a double layer fibreglass skin. A diagonal grid of carbon tows is laid under the skin to maximise torsional stiffness this is called a disser layup. The solid foam core makes the wing very durable and repairable. The very slim fuselage is a one-piece carbon molded design with a 2.4 GHz friendly fibreglass nose. The tail feathers are molded with CNC routed foam cores and a light layer of glass. The tailplane is detachable and is mounted on a very clever and light tail mount with one plastic screw and two fixing pins.
The model is designed for pull-spring actuation of the tail surfaces, but pushrods can be used if preferred. Pushrods, or strings and springs are not supplied with the kit and must be obtained separately by the builder. We now have an option to purchase the kit with a fin that does not have a rudder. This is mainly preferred by competition fliers who prefer the weight saving and inertia reduction of a rudderless DLG.
The Akcent-2 is very easy to fly and is suitable for fliers of any level - from beginners to advanced pilots. The Akcent-2 has been successfully used by pilots in Russia, Europe, and the USA, with positive feedback. It requires a bit more work to assemble than, for example, the Blaster 2 or 3, but flies very well and is tougher and easier to repair.
